Or so claims a news article on MyKawartha.com. But not to worry, adds the website. The Trillium Lakelands District School Board’s growing Summer Learning Program “isn’t exactly like being in school.”
According to Superintendent of Learning Andrea Gillespie, “The whole idea is to help kids who might have a little lag in their learning because of the summer break.” Adds Ms. Gillespie, “We work really hard to make sure it’s a real camp atmosphere, not an extension of being in school.”
