Beginning this summer, Greater Essex County Public School Board is incorporating ESL into its three-week Camp Wonder program, reports The Windsor Star. Four ESL classes, with a total of just under 100 students, are currently being offered at Begley, Dougall, Prince Edward and Brock elementary schools.
According to the report, “The vast majority of the students come from war-torn Syria with a few who escaped from Burma via Thai refugee camps. Most have only been in Canada since February, but some have arrived as recently as the last week of the school year.”
